Full Job Description

The Treatment Unit is looking to recruit an experienced registered nurse who is passionate about high standards of clinical care. From our base at The Becklin Centre, we deliver ECT to patients twice a week to very good effect. Administering ECT is a very rewarding and valuable role within the Trust. We bring about positive outcomes for those patients whose condition has not improved with the use of other therapies. We are an accredited service, adhering to national ECTAS standards which we work hard to maintain. You will be required to support the ongoing development of the service and maintaining the standards set by our accrediting body. You will be supporting other staff through the delivery of effective supervision and training. You will be liaising and working alongside LTHT staff, gaining skills and knowledge of highly specialised clinical practices. We can offer an anesthetic recovery nurse training package which will is delivered by LTHT. You will have the opportunity to embark on this 10 day program to develop your clinical skills and enhance the service provision. This is a weekday only role with some flexibility built in around your shift pattern (

  • must work Tuesdays and Fridays in addition to other day(s)). Contracted hours can be discussed at interview with the preferred candidate being able to choose from 22.5 - 30 hours per week. There is no direct Care Coordination or individual caseload., Providing and supporting in the delivery of ECT - Will perform all roles required within ECT including treatment, recovery and front of house.
  • Organising and co-ordinating ECT list including triage of patients within the MDT. Assessing patients' mental health and cognitive function, documenting and handing over these findings Liaising with referrers. Take lead with liaising with ECTAS, our accreditation service. Communication with service users and other members of MDT. Providing clinical and management supervision to junior colleagues. Supporting the CTM in maintaining the high standards of care and professionalism. Required to act-up into the CTM post while they are on A/L. Maintaining high standards of professionalism and acting as a role model to other members of the team. This is a weekday only role with some flexibility built in around your shift pattern (
