• Practice Assessor / Teaching and Assessing qualification
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Degree in Nursing, or willingness to undertake.

• Diploma in Education and Training - level 5 or 6
Experience/Knowledge Essential criteria
• Post-registration clinical experience in an Emergency Department.
• Experience of supporting others.
• Experience of identifying and assessing learning needs.
Desirable criteria
• Experience at Band 6 within and Emergency department.
• Experience of delivering training.
Skills Essential criteria
• Current ILS
• Triage and Minor injury competent
• Good teaching and assessing skills.
• Good IT skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently.
• Able to provide constructive criticism in a positive and non-threatening way.
• Good presentation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills (confident and assertive; able to communicate well on all levels).
• Able to demonstrate practical skills to others.
Desirable criteria

• Trauma experience

• Ability to develop an individualised orientation (Preceptorship) programme.
