Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.

I am really proud to lead such a great team. I started as a newly qualified nurse in ED 15 years ago, I covered the Clinical Educator post for maternity leave. I then got a Sisters post in ED and applied for a temporary Matron post nearly 7 years ago - here I still am! I didn't have a great time during my first weeks and I remember well what it is like to be new to a department when the support isn't always available, this is why I put our staff at the heart of what I do, I am committed to supporting and developing staff alongside our educators and senior nursing team and have a fair, flexible approach. I look to the team for ideas on change and what matters the most to them, we have regular polls and try our best to get together for big parties (as pandemics allow!) There is no team quite like ours, it's a tough job but a second family and there is nowhere else I'd rather be.
