Full Job Description

Staff will work with the Consultant lead for emergency medicine research and the Lead ED research nurse to deliver NIHR Portfolio studies in the Emergency Departments of Barts Health NHS Trust. Staff will be expected to work independently; manage their own workload and be accountable for their time when on shift. The successful research nurse will be expected to identify, approach and recruit suitable patients to the portfolio of Trauma and Emergency Care studies active within the department. Staff will be trained in each study and will be given regular supervision by their line manager and from research leads. Training in Good Clinical Practice will form part of the initial training package for the role.

Applicants ideally will have a background in emergency department nursing and/or clinical research, and should be willing to help our team to work with other hospitals both nationally and internationally to develop and deliver research into the latest practice in emergency medicine.

Successful applicants will be primarily based in the Emergency Department at Royal London Hospital but may be required to work across all three sites. A full description of the role, working relationships and responsibilities can be found in the attached documents.

We are currently recruiting to fill a full time position to join our award winning team of research nurses and develop research across Barts Health Emergency Departments. The successful applicants will contribute to a team of nurses working across the three acute hospital sites to recruit patients into National institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies., Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.
