Are you passionate about promoting an inclusive culture? Do you want to play a vital role in advancing equality and respect within the University of Cambridge - School of Clinical Medicine? If so, we invite you to join our team as an EDI Assistant. As a key member of the HR team within the School of Clinical Medicine, you will be instrumental in embedding our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives across the Clinical School. Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders - from our departments and institutes to external partners on the Biomedical Campus - you will support the Senior EDI Coordinator in aligning EDI efforts with the School's and University's broader goals. About the Role The EDI Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the EDI team, helping to promote a positive, inclusive culture across the School. This full-time position involves:
- Assisting with EDI-focused events, from diversity days to training workshops, handling logistics like booking venues, sending invitations and supporting event delivery.
- Collaborating on content creation and promotion of EDI initiatives, sharing updates across internal platforms, social media, and our website to boost engagement and accessibility.
- Providing accurate minute-taking and administrative support for EDI-related meetings, including internal working groups and sub-committees, to track and monitor progress.
- Collecting and organising EDI data to support action plans and enhance our understanding of inclusivity across the School.
About You This role calls for an organised and proactive individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will need excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. Familiarity with EDI practices or a background in HR is advantageous but not essential. This position will suit someone keen to make a difference and support strategic efforts towards a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
