About the Role: The University is proud to have achieved the Advance HE Race Equality Charter (REC) Bronze Award in August 2024. This prestigious award recognises our commitment to improving the representation, experience, progression, and success of black, asian and ethnic minority staff and students within higher education., We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Projects Manager to lead the implementation of our Race Equality Charter action plan. This role is integral to advancing race equality across the University, impacting both staff and students.,

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress of the Race Equality Charter action plan.
  • Support action owners in advancing race equality across five priority areas: improving understanding, governance and leadership, student experience, staff pipeline, and process and transparency.
  • Engage routinely with representatives from faculties, academic departments, and professional services.
  • Work closely with the Dean for EDI and Senior Leaders across the University.
  • Take an intersectional approach to implementation, considering the combinations of characteristics and identities within our community.

    Knowledge and experience of race equality matters.
  • Highly effective interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Experience with Chartermarks or similar frameworks is desirable.
