Full Job Description

There are 4 components to this role:

  • The delivery of billable eDisclosure support and consultancy to our lawyers and clients. A minimum of 50% of time is dedicated to client billable activities.

  • Management of our external panel of eDisclosure vendors.

  • eDisclosure expert - defining the firm's strategy for the use of eDisclosure technology, running training and awareness session and selling the services of the eDisclosure team to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Line management and support of the eDisclosure team.


  • Main Responsibilities

  • Be the dedicated eDisclosure / eDiscovery specialist within the Firm, globally.

  • Ensure consistency of approach across different areas of the business.

  • Deliver both internal and external matters which involve the identification, collection, processing, review or disclosure of data sources.

  • Develop project plans and controlling budgets.

  • Lead scoping discussions with clients, and pricing negotiations with third party providers.

  • Maintain clear methodology documentation.

  • Draft correspondence to be sent to opposing parties, and review / analyse correspondence received from opposing parties.

  • Manage third party providers, both at a matter and Firm-wide level.

  • Respond to technical queries and create guidance notes and precedents / templates.

  • Maintain knowledge of developments in the market with respect to changes to the law, technologies, as well as our competitors' positions.

  • Develop best practices and methodologies.

  • Prepare and deliver awareness and training material / presentations.

  • Proactively mentor and coach our lawyers.

  • Develop and maintain mechanisms to efficiently capture and analyse performance metrics.

  • Creating business cases for investments.

  • Work with Partners and the Business Development team to prepare pitch and other marketing documents.

  • Taking ownership and managing eDisclosure projects including litigation and arbitration matters, data subject access requests, statutory, regulatory, and corporate investigations.

  • Drive the use and understanding of eDisclosure technology and services across the business.

  • Deliver technical and consultancy services to legal teams and clients, working through the various stages of the eDisclosure process as set out in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review and production with the application of relevant court rules and practice directions.

  • Take full ownership of managing projects, from the initial scope through to trial.

  • Take initiative on troubleshooting issues and provide continued communication throughout the process of identifying a solution.

  • Work with the wider innovation team to help identify potential solutions.

  • Coach, support and develop team members.

  • Proven ability to clearly and confidently communicate technical concepts in clear terms for consumption by non-technical individuals, and vice-versa.

  • Experience and technical skills

    Essential
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) ideally in a technology or law related discipline.

  • Worked in a professional services, financial services, or very similar environment delivering eDisclosure / eDiscovery projects of varying sizes.

  • End to end responsibility for eDisclosure / eDiscovery projects for lawyers, covering a multitude of industry sectors.

  • Managed teams of junior specialists and / or managed third party providers.

  • Managed risks and costs, whilst driving progress and delivering quality outcomes under tight deadlines.

  • Delivered both technical (e.g. processing data / setting up and maintaining review platforms) and consulting / strategic work (e.g. advising on collection / search / review strategies).

  • Excellent hands-on knowledge of Relativity.

  • As an experienced eDisclosure Project Manager from either a law firm or eDisclosure vendor environment.

  • Experience in using Relativity is a must.

  • Hands-on experience in the use of technology assisted reviews (TAR), email threading and near-duplication functions on projects.

  • A strong technical understanding of eDisclosure and litigation support.

  • Work collaboratively within a team and independently.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to convey technical information in a simple to understand language to our clients and lawyers.


  • Desirable
  • Nuix, Brainspace and Relativity qualifications / certifications.

  • Technical ability and experience with collection technologies such as FTK, EnCase, and Cellebrite.

  • Technical ability and experience in conducting Forensic analysis.

  • Understanding of, and ability to write SQL and Python.

  • Relativity back-end experience.

  • Experience of working in a law firm.

  • Experience of providing eDisclosure training to others.
