Are you ready to play a pivotal role in healthcare education and outreach? Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance is recruiting enthusiastic Education Engagement Officer to help deliver impactful learning experiences for our healthcare workforce.
In this role, you'll support the workforce and education team by managing and promoting a suite of blended learning initiatives on the Cancer Academy that empower healthcare professionals to develop their skills and enhance patient care. You'll oversee the Academy website, update the learning library, and maintain the ePortfolio to ensure engaging and accessible resources for all users. This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities, from planning and delivering webinars, events, and skills labs to developing and executing promotional campaigns that inspire staff to engage with the ACCEND framework.
If you have a knack for creating engaging content, a passion for education, and excellent organisational skills, this role is perfect for you. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Greater Manchester's health and social care system, building partnerships and raising awareness of Cancer Academy's educational offerings.
The post is 1.0 WTE and is fixed term until March 2026 in the first instance. Secondment requests will be considered., The Education Engagement Officer will support the Workforce and Education Programme to:
+ Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts and stakeholders across the Greater Manchester education system, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
+ Provide a basic understanding of ACCEND to the workforce across the system, with knowledge of education Academy offers
+ Work closely with relevant internal teams and partner organisations to support the delivery of flagship events, such as the Greater Manchester Cancer Conference, promoting collaboration across cancer pathways and trusts.
+ Oversee the GM Cancer Academy inbox, providing expert advice, resolving queries efficiently, and directing communications to the relevant individuals or departments as appropriate.
+ Lead the production and distribution of high-quality marketing materials ensuring they meet accessibility standards.
+ Take ownership of the Cancer Academy website, proactively managing and updating content, sustaining the learning library, and developing the ePortfolio.
+ Lead the creation, management, and monitoring of social media channels, producing engaging and informative content to grow audience reach and interaction that promotes ACCEND
+ Coordinate the delivery of educational activities, events, and webinars, managing timelines and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

+ Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts and stakeholders across the Greater Manchester education system, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
+ Provide a basic understanding of ACCEND to the workforce across the system, with knowledge of education Academy offers
+ Develop, implement, and manage systems to monitor, track, and report progress across all workstreams, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
+ Work closely with relevant internal teams and partner organisations to support the delivery of flagship events, such as the Greater Manchester Cancer Conference, promoting collaboration across cancer pathways and trusts.
+ Oversee the GM Cancer Academy inbox, providing expert advice, resolving queries efficiently, and directing communications to the relevant individuals or departments as appropriate.
+ Provide project support including minute-taking, recording key actions from meetings, and occasionally chairing meetings to ensure clear communication and follow-up.
MARKETING
+ Manage and maintain the customer relationship database, leading the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns in line with strategic objectives.
+ Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in all marketing activities, implementing best practices for data management.
+ Work creatively within guidelines to design effective marketing and communication strategies, ensuring brand consistency in promoting the Cancer Academy's offers.
+ Lead the production and distribution of high-quality marketing materials, including posters, flyers, agendas, and digital content, ensuring they meet accessibility standards.
+ Take ownership of the Cancer Academy website, proactively managing and updating content, sustaining the learning library, and developing the ePortfolio.
+ Lead the creation, management, and monitoring of social media channels, producing engaging and informative content to grow audience reach and interaction that promotes ACCEND
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive, annual marketing calendar, aligning activities with key national awareness days and campaigns.
+ Promote Cancer Academy offers through external platforms, building partnerships to maximise visibility and reach.
+ Collate, analyse, and report key engagement metrics and analytical data to the monthly Education Delivery Group, providing insights and recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness and uptake of education
+ Lead discrete pieces of work related to Academy marketing, identifying opportunities for engagement and education within Greater Manchester Cancer and beyond.
EDUCATION ACTIVITY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Oversee the development of registration platforms for educational offers, ensuring a seamless user experience.
+ Coordinate the delivery of educational activities, events, and webinars, managing timelines and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
+ Plan and organise educational activities, ensuring high standards in event coordination and delivery.
+ Act as the main point of contact at events, coordinating on-site logistics, troubleshooting issues, and providing excellent support to attendees.
+ Conduct detailed data analysis on educational activities, providing insights to inform current and future planning, ensuring the quality and relevance of offers, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
+ Apply project management principles to delegated deliverables, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while supporting the review of project plans and updating them with milestones, timeframes, and outcomes.
+ Support the implementation of tests/pilots in accordance with established project plans and escalate risks to the Senior Programme Lead/Education Manager as appropriate.
+ Produce and maintain precise, accurate documentation and project update reports for key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are distributed in a timely manner.
+ Deliver event schedules, including supplier liaison, health and safety compliance, staff coordination, and budget management, ensuring all logistical aspects are addressed.
+ Work flexibly within the team to support the development and evolution of educational activities, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Produce detailed event evaluations and reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior colleagues for enhancing future events.
+ Source and negotiate appropriate venues for educational activities, preparing detailed requirements and managing relationships to ensure event success.
+ Monitor and track registration rates for education offers, analysing data against targets, and providing strategic recommendations to the team for course corrections where needed.
+ Implement ABPI Guidelines when planning and organising education to fulfil pharmaceutical contracts
FINANCE
+ Monitor and maintain accurate budgetary records for the Cancer Academy, supporting financial planning and tracking with the Senior Programme Lead for Education.
+ Lead on processing financial transactions, including raising purchase order requisitions, invoicing external organisations, and managing personal payments, ensuring all actions are compliant with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).
+ Achieve sponsorship income targets, acting as the primary liaison for sponsors, managing contracts and financial records, and ensuring sponsors receive appropriate support and engagement at events.
PLANNING AND REPORTING
+ Work with the team to plan short and long term deliverables, regularly monitoring and adjusting plans as required
+ Support the team to determine overall project durations, when activities and events are planned including their dependencies taking into account requirements and availability of resources
+ Develop and manage work plans with clear objectives and outcomes as identified by the team
+ Support the team in the reporting of project status metrics to facilitate the identification of project priorities and reporting progress to relevant boards
+ Assist in the tracking of progress against these outcome measures
+ Support the Senior Programme Lead and Education Manager to maintain a risk register for the programmes of work reporting risks and issues according to a risk assessment framework
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Support the production of programme documentation, including project update reports for key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency.
+ Provide feedback to stakeholders, address issues as they arise, and follow up on outstanding matters to ensure timely resolution and effective communication.
+ Promote collaboration between partner organisations and build relationships across cancer pathways to strengthen the Cancer Academy's education programme.
+ Represent the team at meetings, providing updates on the progress of educational programmes and deliverables as required.
+ Keep up to date with relevant research and literature from national and international sources to enhance the development and quality of education programmes.
+ Analyse data, solve problems, and develop solutions in partnership with Programme Leads/Project Leads and stakeholders, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement in programme delivery.
