Education ⫽ SEN Teaching Assistant Jobs

First Class Supply are working with a school in North Tyneside who is looking to appoint a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This role is to provide 1:1 support for an individual pupil in Year 5, duties include:

· To work as part of the team to ensure that the wellbeing and personal development of the pupil enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.

· To work towards pupil's individualised targets set out within the EHCP, in liaison with the class teacher and SENCO

· To provide learning support for the pupil in class or in intervention areas

· To develop knowledge of the particular needs of the pupil and seek advice from the SENCO and class teacher

· To aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide modified materials as required e.g. games, visual prompt cards etc.

· Motivate and encourage pupil to have a go at activities they may be unsure of.

· Have experience of working with children within an education setting

· Hold a full and relevant level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant child care discipline

· Have the ability to motivate and engage children

· Be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable

· Have a minimum of 6 months recent experience within a UK setting
