Full Job Description
First Class Supply are working with a school in Newcastle, who is looking to appoint a SEND Assistant to work in their Year 3 class. The post holder will provide support throughout the whole class as well as tailored 1:1 support to student with specific needs. The post holder can choose between full-time or part-time (afternoons) working patterns.
Duties include:
· Working with the pupils directly on curriculum related tasks under the direction of the teacher
· Providing support for the pupils inside and outside the classroom environment to enable them to fully participate in activities
· Assisting in the implementation of Individual EHCP's and help monitor pupil progress
· Giving relevant feedback to the teacher regarding the need of the pupils therefore offering the teacher support in their assessment
Successful applicants will be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable. You must also possess the following:
· A relevant Level 2 or above childcare qualification
· Experience of working with children with additional needs
· Experience in and passionate about working with young children
· Able to communicate effectively and to build positive relationships
