Full Job Description
An SEN specialist School in the Roehampton area is searching for Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to assist in their primary setting.
This will involve working with children aged 5-11 with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and Challenging Behaviour, with moderate/severe needs. There are also opportunities to work with children aged 11-19 in their secondary setting too - candidates who are prepared to do this will be considered stronger applicants.
A typical school day is from 8:25am - 4pm, and the school follows UK school term dates.
Vetting checks will be required, including DBS check and references (to be completed after applying)., Provide high-quality care and education for children with SEN
- Support children with SEN 1:1 in the classroom and at breaks
- Support children with personal care, such as feeding, toileting and mobility assistance
- Plan and implement activities that promote learning and development, under the direction of a class teacher or HLTA, and collaboration with the SENCo
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for children with SEN
classroom experience, personal care, strong behaviour management, 1:1 support, proactive, care background, Previous experience working with children or adults with SEN is essential
- A willingness to help children with personal care is essential
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential
- Applicants must be aged 18 or older
- Experience working with children in a school setting is desirable
- A willingness to work with both primary and secondary age groups is very desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: £94.50-£110.00 per day
