Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced nurse to lead on the development of Learning and Development plans and strategies, ensuring these have vision, are sustainable, resilient and executed and understood by all staff. This is both a leadership and educator role; you'll need to be an experienced clinician with a management style that leads and inspires a team with an excellent reputation to continue to provide high quality education. You will work in collaboration with senior colleagues to ensure our clinical workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to provide safe and effective care. You will oversee the delivery of the annual training and development plans, offering a broad range of learning techniques and development opportunities in partnership with the L&D team. You will lead the International Educated Nurse programme within CHS, working closely with the Head of International Recruitment. You will support the creation of a workforce where diversity is visible and valued at all levels ensuring education, learning and development is easily accessible. You will develop relationships with local universities and colleges for partnership working. You will deliver learning & development activity, including training sessions & workshops. You will line manage the CHS Clinical Education Team and in conjunction with clinical leads audit the educational programme annually. The hours available are 30 or 37.5 per week.,

  • Support talent management and succession planning that offers effective staff development and ensures long term business continuity.
  • Be visible to staff at all levels, provide motivational leadership and support, developing skills and competencies that will enhance capability and credibility across the Directorate and wider Trust.
  • With senior colleagues take the lead responsibility for education/training elements of performance management (frameworks & mechanisms) and workforce planning.
  • Facilitate a structure and mechanism for clinical supervision within CHS and act also as a clinical supervisor.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Nursing/Deputy Heads of Nursing/AHP Lead, lead clinical practice initiatives, staff education and professional development.
  • Support multi professional and interprofessional learning.
  • With the Head of Nursing/DHON lead policy development, supporting change, innovation and new ways of working for CHS.
  • Work in partnership with senior colleagues to identify relevant education and training needs.
  • Work collaboratively with local Universities/Higher Education Institutions and other training providers to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of both pre and post registration education and training.
  • Act as a clinical and professional resource for the MDT, patients and service users.
  • Work clinically alongside staff promoting and delivering education, ensuring a workforce fit for purpose and practice.
