We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Education Speech and Language Therapy Locality Lead to join our SLT Clinical Leadership Team. With extensive clinical and operational experience, and excellent staff management skills, you will co-lead our special schools speech and language therapy and school aged dysphagia teams. You will have at least five years of clinical experience in special schools including dysphagia, including a minimum of two years' experience in managing SLT teams in special schools.

You will have demonstrable clinical supervisory and line management skills and have experience of the day to day running of SLT teams working in special schools and dysphagia. The role will include working in partnership with the Local Authorities and our Parent Carer Networks as well as managing a clinical caseload., two years of experience of providing clinical supervision and line management to SLTs in special schools.

knowledge and experience of:

implementing quality improvement strategies and initiatives

  • delivery of different SLT models of care within special schools settings

  • Managing change within an SLT service.

  • Leadership skills e.g., in service development projects

  • Importance of delivering SLT services to KPIs and to contract specification.

  • effective partnership working

  • Overall team and individual performance management

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of clinical assessment, intervention approaches and use of outcome measures in special schools speech and language development


  • Providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex SLT needs including dysphagia.
