Are you passionate about safeguarding and student welfare? Manor CE Academy is seeking an Education and Welfare Support Officer to join our dedicated team. Also serving as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and support of our students. This role is permanent, working 37 hours per week on a term time only basis.

Working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead, this role involves managing a caseload of students and providing them with appropriate support. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the safeguarding field and be accustomed to handling large amounts of sensitive and confidential data. Additionally, they should demonstrate excellent record-keeping skills and attention to detail, enabling them to produce reports, minute meetings, and document safeguarding concerns effectively. As part of the role you will also be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and be responsible for liaising with local statutory children's services, the Virtual School for Children in Care, and other key local Safeguarding partners. You will take the lead role in discussions and inter agency meetings to contribute to the assessment of children, as well as manage internal and external referrals.

An understanding and empathetic nature will be key in making a positive contribution to students in difficult, delicate and sensitive situations, as a significant part of the role involves liaising with families who are experiencing trauma or turmoil. The confidence and ability to communicate to students aged 11-16 is essential, as well as an awareness of local and national agencies that provide support to young people and their families. This role is to strengthen our support for students to help them achieve their full potential.
