Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Inclusion Team. We pay an attractive salary of £24,294 - £25,979 and offer access to training and development opportunities. The role involves working under the guidance of the LAC Coordinator and complement and support the work of Teachers and senior staff within the school. You will provide pastoral support to looked after children to increase levels of engagement and attendance, attainment, reduce behavioural concerns, support improvements in wellbeing and support engagement of parents and carers. You will be responsible for delivering work programmes and interventions to provide additional pastoral and academic support in schools for children who are looked after and liaise with schools and Social Services staff, regarding progress of pupils' coursework deadlines and any other issues related to the education of looked after children.

A level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, GCSEs Grade A

  • -C or equivalent English and/or Mathematics.
  • Full working knowledge of education, employment and vocational opportunities for school leavers.
