Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Educational Mental Health Practitioners or Children's Well-Being Practitioners to join our MHST North Team, based at North End House.

EMHPs and CWP's have a key role as members of the Mental Health Support Team, who have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and well-being support for children and young people.

Main duties of the job

EMHPs and CWP's have the responsibility for delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.

To support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.

Work in effective, evidence-based partnership with children, young people, their families and their educators in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes., Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for further detailed information to ensure that you meet the role criteria before applying.

Essential

  • EMHP-BSc Hons and Successful completion of a Health Education England commissioned 1 year Post Graduate Diploma (Educational Mental Health Practitioner)

  • CWP- Successfully completed academic course of study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and will be qualified as a CWP.


  • Children's Wellbeing Practitioner

    Desirable

    EMHP- Evidence of CPD in child and adolescent mental health and / or education

    Experience

    Essential
  • EMHP- Ability carrying out 1 : 1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children

  • EMHP- Ability to conduct group parenting programmes

  • EMHP- Ability takes appropriate action to mitigate or manage risk.

  • CWP- Evidence of working with young people who have experienced a mental health problem

  • CWP- Experience of delivering low intensity CBT and parent led CBT within children and young people's services

  • CWP- Demonstrates high standard in written communication


  • Desirable
  • EMHP- In Providing training with education staff in an education setting

  • CWP- Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes. Evidence of working in the local community and Experience of delivering psycho-educational groups and parent led CBT

    Essential
  • Effective communication and positive interpersonal skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.

  • Sound value-based practice which empower individuals and promotes wellness and is recovery focused.

  • Commitment to ensure core skills and knowledge is updated on a yearly basis.
