As part of the County Attendance Team, you will work with a strong supportive team who ensure access to education advocating on behalf of the child and families., The role purpose of the Elective Home Education Officer is to ensure the effective delivery of statutory duties related to Elective Home Education (EHE).This includes ensuring that children receiving home education have access to an education that is suitable for their age, aptitude, and any special educational needs they may have. We are committed to ensuring that all children receive a suitable education that meets their needs and aspirations.Our team works closely with families, schools, and other agencies to support and monitor elective home education.We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join us as an Elective Home Education Officer. As an Elective Home Education Officer, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of statutory duties related to Elective Home Education (EHE) and for those children with Education, Health and Care plans who are educated at home.

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are both highly valued and critical to improving the outcomes for children and families?, The Elective Home Education Team is part of the wider County Attendance Team who are highly motivated and highly skilled individuals who hold statutory duties in relation to Elective Home Education, Children Missing Education, School Attendance and Child Performance licensing and Employment., The welfare of the child is paramount. You must have a commitment to inclusion across all aspects of the role. Knowledge of safeguarding processes, risk assessments, relevant legislation and experience in mediation or restorative approaches are essential. You should be able to build and maintain working relationships (internally and externally) and be able to work on your own initiative, prioritising your workload and have a child-centred approach to the delivery of services with a 'can-do' attitude. You will need to offer and complete home visits alone, with colleagues and professionals to give advice and guidance regarding Elective Home Education and assess suitability of provision. An ability to use a range of databases and ICT tools and keep clear and accurate case records is essential along with an ability to work to time scales.
