Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Electoral Services Team to cover maternity leave. We're looking for a highly motivated, approachable, and enthusiastic team player to join our busy Electoral Services Team as an Electoral Services Officer. You will deal with the electoral registration process, including preparation, publication, and maintenance of the register of electors, providing advice to electors and will be central to preparing for elections and referendums. Answering telephone calls, emails, and face-to-face enquiries from the public. Working in Electoral Services places you at the heart of local democracy in a fast paced, interesting, and unique area of work.

We are looking for a confident, articulate person who can demonstrate previous experience working in Electoral Registration and Elections. You'll also have a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy whilst under pressure and working to defined deadlines. You will have a sound working knowledge of Word, Excel spreadsheets with experience of using Xpress Register and Xpress Management, or similar Electoral Management system highly desirable. The ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers, resolve issues and complaints by negotiation.
