Electrical Discharge Machining Operator & Setter

Responsible for setting and operating conventional machines with some undertaking of bench dressing duties. Part of a multidisciplinary team achieving performance measures, continuous improvement and first line maintenance objectives. Core Responsibilities: § Set and operate a variety of conventional machines, which could include turning, milling, drilling, press tool, grinding, or honing type equipment etc. § Multi-manning of more than one machine / piece of equipment, where applicable, will be required. § Ability to use a range of measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, diameter gauges, comparators etc. § Produce first off component of batch and inspect before proceeding to rest of batch. § Accountable for inspecting and ensuring that all components comply with drawings, and/or layouts. § Perform dressing of components if required and tool maintenance as necessary.

§ A good standard of general education is required. § An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although training will be given. § 2 years similar experience in an engineering manufacturing facility making a similar product. § Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings. § The ability to use inspection equipment associated with this role is essential. § Good computer skills are desirable, as is a knowledge of the computer systems used (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook etc).
