Full Job Description

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Conduct relevant electrical installation within new or existing substations to ensure compliance with DNO/IDNO specifications.
  • Install earth nests/mats to specified drawings.
  • Carry out all testing and inspection of installations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environment & quality policies, procedures, and standards always, escalating and documenting specific site hazards/conditions, as required.

    The role requires expertise in installing earth switches, disconnectors, earthing techniques (such as brazing and ductor testing), and the ability to read and produce complex wiring diagrams and core sheets., You are a qualified electrical fitter/electrician with experience of working in industrial environment and ideally high voltage substations (i.e. UKPN, NGC etc) and able to work effectively as part of a team. Proficient in wiring electrical circuits, installing, glanding, and terminating multicore cables into panels (e.g., protection, SCADA, marshalling kiosks, battery chargers, and LVAC panels) are essential.
  • In addition, ideally you will possess the following qualifications, Confined Space A, B & C, EUSR, IPAF, PASMA, and Gas Safety, along with Ladder Association User & Inspector qualifications, PAT testing, and mechanical fitting, including Unistrut products, cable trays, ladders, and conduits.
