As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll spearhead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all systems within our plant. Collaborating closely with our dedicated maintenance team, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, tackle breakdowns, implement repairs, and execute planned maintenance activities.   • To ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety codes and to ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted safely including taking the appropriate precautions to mitigate risks.
  • To stay updated on regulatory requirements and implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.
  • To ensure compliance and participation in areas including, STOP WORK processes, pre-task risk assessments (PTRA), safety inspections, permit to work processes and hazard identification and rectification.
  • To maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation in all maintenance workshops to provide a safe and efficient working environment for the maintenance team.
  • To optimise the performance of machinery and equipment to maximise efficiency and productivity. This may include conducting performance analyses, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing modifications or upgrades to enhance equipment performance.
  • To liaise with the maintenance team and Technical Manager to ensure the adequate inventory of spare parts and consumables required for maintenance activities. This includes maintaining adequate stock levels and identifying critical spare parts.
  • To find new ways of optimising equipment and coming up with ideas for energy-saving opportunities including identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades or retrofits to reduce energy consumption and minimise environmental impacts.
  • To liaise with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized maintenance services, equipment procurement, or technical support.
  • To work independently, conducting routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs without constant supervision.
  • To diagnose technical issues swiftly and accurately and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement solutions expediently, even in the absence of direct oversight.
  • To act decisively and autonomously to restore equipment and plant functionality in the event of equipment failures or emergencies.
  • To remain composed under pressure, using experience and expertise to resolve issues promptly and minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot systems including power distribution and other operational technologies.
  • Perform maintenance on production equipment, material handling systems, and dust collection equipment.
  • Manage tasks involving electrical controls, PLCs, VSDs, servo motors, HMIs, and motor control systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance routines (PPMs) and review work order assignments.
  • Use both power and hand tools for various maintenance, electrical, and electronic tasks.
  • Observe, report, and rectify discrepancies in facilities and equipment independently.
  • Ensure safety by identifying hazards and taking corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs related to equipment history and operations.

    5+ years of electrical engineering background with mechanical proficiency (60% electrical 40% mechanical)
  • 5+ years experience in a process driven manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstratable track record of performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs effectively and cost efficiently.
  • Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (HNC or higher).
  • Testing and Inspection as IET Wiring Regulations - Level 3
  • Candidate must demonstrate a proactive demeanour, demonstrating a strong inclination towards practical engagement and a willingness to actively participate in hands-on tasks.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and provide effective solutions., City & Guilds 2391 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Certified in IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in utilizing data-driven techniques for maintenance management and optimization.
