Full Job Description

Our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks division brings the built environment to life, keeping people and businesses connected. Kier are part of the UK Power Networks ED2 Alliance, comprising UKPN, Morrison Utility Services, Clancy Docwra and Kier Utilities. The Alliance is charged with delivering a £1bn programme in the 2023-2028 ED2 regulatory period. Kier Utilities has been appointed to undertake infrastructure projects across the Southern and Eastern Power Networks (SPN & EPN). In this role, you will oversee the procurement, manufacture, and on-site delivery of electrical works for a new 132kV Substation being constructed by UKPN. You'll ensure the implementation of Health, Safety, and Quality procedures, delivering projects to the correct specifications. What will you be responsible for? As an Electrical Manager, you'll be working within the UKPN ED2 Alliance team, supporting them in delivering high-quality electrical projects safely and efficiently. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing the safe delivery of complex projects to quality standards, within budget and schedule.
  • Monitoring Health and Safety standards, completing inspections, raising observations, and reporting incidents.
  • Producing and reviewing RAMS, ensuring implementation and necessary amendments.
  • Managing subcontractors and direct labor, ensuring all personnel are competent and supervised.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Team for procurement and financial forecasts.

    You have proven experience managing HV electrical works with knowledge of industry standards.
  • You hold relevant qualifications such as CSCS/EUSR and SMSTS, and are degree qualified or working towards chartership.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, and have a UK driving license.
