Full Job Description

As an Electrical Improver/Mate, you will assist our qualified electricians in delivering electrical services on new build commercial properties. You will play a supportive role in ensuring that all electrical, power, control, and network installations are completed efficiently and safely. Your hands-on experience and willingness to learn will be critical in helping the team meet project deadlines and quality standards., 1. Support in Electrical Installation: + Assist in the installation of electrical systems in new build commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) regulations. + Provide support in the supervision of power, control, and network installations under the guidance of qualified electricians. + Work alongside other trades and contractors to ensure a coordinated and efficient installation process. 2. Assistance in Commissioning & Testing: + Help in commissioning control loops using calibrated test equipment to match the plant response. + Assist in testing and inspecting installed systems, ensuring they meet the required standards. + Participate in documenting and reporting on commissioning activities as directed by senior team members. 3. Compliance & Safety: + Support the team in adhering to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards. + Participate in safety briefings and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment on-site. + Stay informed about electrical codes and safety practices, applying this knowledge in your daily tasks. 4. On-Site Assistance: + Assist in the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. + Provide support to the electricians by preparing materials, tools, and equipment for installations. + Learn from experienced team members and develop your skills and knowledge in electrical work.

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Improver/Mate or similar role is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and installations.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills under the supervision of qualified electricians.
  • Familiarity with IEE regulations and electrical safety practices is an advantage.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
