Full Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Testing Technician (PAT) to join us in The University of Salford's Facilities team. This is an exciting to join us as we look to expand the team and undergo massive projects to construct new buildings and re-purpose existing ones., To coordinate and carry out the electrical testing of university portable appliances and liaise with those persons undertaking the testing.
To carry out visual inspection, insulation resistance measurements and, where appropriate, earth continuity tests, of portable appliance at intervals identified in the Code of Practice for Electrical Safety.
To maintain records and download information in accordance with the test schedule requirements and report to their line manager findings of any matters relating to the health and safety of staff and students.

A bit about Estates and Property Services…
Our Estates and Facilities team lead the development of our campus, creating engaging and innovative learning, working and living environments for colleagues, students, and partners. The Directorate has over 300 employees and works with a wide range of external contractors.
The Directorate is responsible for delivering full estates and facilities management to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping. Covering 33 buildings across the estate, split currently across 5 sites.
The main responsibility for this role is to perform a high-volume of PAT testing around our campuses. Therefore, you should have experience in this area. We also need someone who is proficient with computer systems and databases.
You will need a City and Guilds 2377-77(PAT) qualification for this opportunity.
