Full Job Description

We are looking to hire an Electronics Technician to join our growing electronics team and help drive our cutting edge development work forward.   • Basic mechanical CAD (e.g., front panel design).
  • Mechanical fabrication and assembly (e.g., 3D printing, product assembly, cable making).
  • Component sourcing based on defined specifications (e.g., connectors, cables, switches).
  • Basic PCB design and assembly (e.g., for connector suitability tests).
  • Test assistance and data collection (e.g., organizing temporary test spaces, booking equipment, ordering required items, monitoring tests).
  • Managing and sharing scripts for test equipment (e.g., scripts to retrieve data from a spectrum analyzer over the network).
  • Maintaining stock of essential supplies (e.g., resistors, solder, 3D printer materials).
  • Support the Health and Safety aspects and drive 5S principals.
  • Engage with facilities planning activities and risk management.

    The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates: Good knowledge of electronics circuit theory and good EM field theory, including noise analysis and physical device knowledge.
  • Basic PCB schematic and layout using CAD tools, good manufacturing process knowledge and excellent verification/debug skills using electronics test equipment.
  • Familiarity with Electronics lab setup and maintenance.
  • Must-have Skills:
  • 10 years' experience in working with electronics components, circuit boards, wiring, soldering, tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics.
  • Use of spectrum analysers and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in building test setups from an electronical, electronics and mechanical side.
  • Experience of working with suppliers and contractors.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Team Player.
  • Degree or completed coursework in engineering or electronics or a related discipline.
  • Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Experience with C and/or scripting languages e.g. Python and Matlab.
  • Experience with Labview.
