Full Job Description
In this role, reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, you will be a key member of the Corporate Responsibility leadership team, owning and executing IHG's environmental sustainability and community impact Strategy for the EMEAA Region, partnering with key regional stakeholders and external NGOs to embed and drive leadership for operational delivery.,
- Lead the development and execution of medium and long-term environmental sustainability and community impact strategies and targets for the EMEAA region (aligned with IHG's Journey to Tomorrow responsible business strategy).
- Collaborate with regional leadership to integrate the CR agenda into the overall EMEAA business strategy, ensuring its implementation across all hotels and corporate offices.
- Develop and manage regional delivery plans, including resourcing and tailored education to support sustainability and community impact goals.
- Engage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders (NGOs, government bodies) to support environmental goals and enhance the company's reputation.
- Support government engagement on policies affecting environmental objectives.
- Act as a sustainability advisor, driving CR communications and collaboration within the EMEAA region.
- Monitor, report, and manage the delivery of CR priorities and initiatives, ensuring accurate data tracking and reporting.
- Develop the next generation of sustainability leadership within the EMEAA team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategies in a global matrix organisation. A strong understanding of environmental sustainability is essential, including developing and reporting metrics across carbon, waste, water and biodiversity. Experience of implementing community impact initiatives is highly desirable. You will be skilled in collaborating with and influencing senior leadership within complex organizations and possess effective project management and leadership skills to drive cultural system-wide changes. A deep understanding of ESG issues, trends, and best practices is essential, along with strong analytical skills and experience in creating business cases for sustainability initiatives. Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences, and a customer-focused, proactive approach to problem-solving are also key attributes for this role.
