required.
To deal with patients, relatives and visitors who may be angry or upset in a tactful manner.
To assess certain situations regarding patients medical welfare and deal in an appropriate manner.
To deal with hostility from aggressive, sometimes inebriated patients,
relatives and their friends.
Liaise with ambulance crews, police and hospital security.
Preparing notes, general filing, photocopying, faxing and scanning.
Ensure all aspects of patient personal matters/records are dealt with in a
confidential manner.
To follow the policies and procedures as set down in the department, ensure that any changes are implemented.
Dealing with all manner of enquires verbally or by telephone.
Arrange / book attendance in to department via Symphony and Myrddin
system and scanning of notes for transfer to wards with the relevant staff
and departments.
Book outpatient appointments on the hospital Myrddin system.
Access previous patient history via Clinical Work Station or Health Records.
To organise the preparation of notes for subsequent scanning, to include
boxing up of the notes in readiness.
To attend regular training courses as required.

This position is the initial point of contact for our Emergency Department and so a friendly and professional manner along with good communication skills are pivotal to this role. It is essential that you are capable of working on your own and/or as part of a team, able to use your initiative and work well under pressure. The role can be challenging but exciting due to the new ways of working and so creativity, adaptability and flexibility is required in order to develop our services for our patients. The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate a clear telephone manner and be highly motivated.
Whilst experience in a range of IT systems such as Symphony, Clinical Workstation and Welsh Pas is beneficial, full training will be given.
Working hours for this post follow a 24-hour roster therefore bank holiday and weekend working is essential for this role., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
