Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Sick Children's Nurse, with a passion to make a difference, to join the Paediatric Emergency Unit (EU) at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW). As the only Paediatric Major Trauma Centre in Wales, the Emergency & Acute Medicine Directorate sees over 145,000 patients annually and is one of the busiest EUs in the UK. If you share our core values, we would love to receive your application.If you possess a RSCN/ RPN qualification and would welcome the opportunity to provide excellent patient care in a challenging and rewarding environment, then we look forward to receiving your application., The Paediatric Emergency Unit is a challenging but rewarding environment with opportunities to develop and extend the knowledge and skills required to care for Paediatric patients with a wide range of surgical, medical and trauma conditions prior to their journey into the Children's Hospital or discharge. As part of our transformative work we have opened a Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) to support those patients that require a short stay for additional care but don't require admission to the hospital.

The successful post holder will be given the opportunity to develop their nursing skills in all aspects of paediatric minor and major injury and illness.

As a new member of the team, you will receive a full induction, supernumerary period and the opportunity toundertake a Band 5 development programme. To enhance your learning experience you will be supported by a clinical nurse educator and a practice development team.
