Full Job Description
As a member of the Water Logistics Team, you will: 1. Support the Water Logistics Team Leader in delivering an efficient and effective service 2. Work closely with the Operational field teams and Water Logistics team to ensure seamless service to customers 24/7, with no avoidable failures in service delivery. 3. Occasionally work with Waste Water field teams and Emergency Planning team to ensure seamless service to customers 24/7, with no avoidable failures in service delivery. 4. Support the business during events and incidents Your Main responsibilities will include: 1. Provide 24-hour Logistical Support mainly to Clean Water Staff during events/Incidents by taking part in an out of hours standby rota and having flexible working hours with occasional support to the Waste Water Operation also. 2. Liaise with service providers to deploy manpower, vehicles and equipment to ensure a seamless service to customers 24/7, with no avoidable failures in service delivery. 3. Organise and manage logistics activities during events/incidents and planned work e.g. deployment of plant, ensure shift patterns are in place for drivers etc. 4. Work closely with other teams to minimise the impact on customers and return to normal service as soon and as efficiently as possible. 5. Manage tankering activities to comply with Tankering Best Practice and Hygienic Practices. 6. Ensure procedures and activities undertaken comply with all Health and Safety legislation and DCWW Health & Safety policies in maintaining a safe working environment. 7. Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills - Possess a Class C & E driving licence (HGV Class 1)
- An understanding of Health and Safety Procedures related to Water Network and the equipment used within the Emergency Logistics
- Be an able to effectively communicate with Supervisors and Field Teams
- To be able to work to a high standard within a pressured situation
- To be able to undertake direct instructions as well as being able to think strategically under one's own initiative
- The ability to work cooperatively and to drive delivery of Emergency Logistics in operations
- Ability to travel as job requires Good to know
- The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota
- Shift working may be required
