Full Job Description

Under the Direction of the Head of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response as a member of the UHSussex Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team aid in the delivery of the Trusts Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) work programme. The Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team is responsible to ensure that EPRR corporate responsibilities are met and provide assurance that the Trust complies with relevant legislation and guidance, that co-ordinated systems are in place in all areas of the organisation to ensure that core critical services are maintained in response to any reasonably foreseeable event. As a member of the EPRR Team, the post holder will be central to supporting the Trust in achieving and maintaining compliance against the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and any associated Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) guidance, including NHS England's (NHSE) Core Standards for EPRR. This will provide experience and
exposure to understanding how one of the largest NHS Acute Trusts functions and an opportunity to work with UHSussex colleagues at a Strategic, Tactical and Operational level. Support the Trust by reviewing and updating existing emergency and business continuity polices and plans, assisting with EPRR training and exercising programmes and supporting the response to any potential incidents or emergencies.

Main duties of the job

Produce and maintain robust documentation and work across multiple sites and clinical delivery groups.

Work with the EPRR Support and Administration Officer in providing programme and administrative support to the team to ensure delivery of projects.

Communicate with external partners including commissioners and regulators many of which are time sensitive requirements and need to be treated with utmost confidence and professionalism.

Working in conjunction with the UHSussex Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team and reporting to the Head and or Deputy Head of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response in undertaking the following main duties and responsibilities:

Facilitate the development and maintenance of robust departmental business continuity and emergency incident plans and responses across the organisation.

Prepare plans and progress towards appropriate levels of preparedness, ensuring that response arrangements are based on the best available evidence and guidance

Be aware of organisational changes that may affect the operation of the major, critical and business continuity incident procedures, amend procedures and develop overall knowledge.
