Are you skilled at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with emergency preparedness and safety standards? Are you experienced in conducting audits, inspections, and surveillance activities to identify and address potential gaps in emergency arrangements? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Emergency Preparedness Assurance Officer at Hinkley Point C! The Opportunity Join us as our next Emergency Preparedness Assurance Officer, you'll take the lead in managing the Construction Emergency Preparedness Audit and Assurance Programme at the HPC Construction Project. Your focus will be on ensuring contractors' compliance with emergency planning, fire safety, and business resilience standards. In addition to overseeing audits and assurance, you'll collaborate with the Emergency Preparedness Team to support the management of emergency preparedness and fire safety arrangements across the construction site., As the Emergency Preparedness Assurance Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and readiness across the HPC Construction Project. You'll lead the Construction Emergency Assurance Programme, delivering inspections, audits, and planning activities to ensure robust emergency arrangements are in place. Your work will directly contribute to the integration and coordination of emergency preparedness efforts across teams and contractors. Additional responsibilities include:
- Conduct inspections, checks, and audits of emergency arrangements across the HPC project.
- Perform regular site surveillance activities to ensure compliance.
- Inspect contractor emergency facilities and equipment, identifying deficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Report findings through the project reporting tool and to the Emergency Preparedness Manager.
- Author, review, and manage updates to team-owned documents, and contribute to related document reviews.
- Plan and deliver NNB emergency exercises to validate and demonstrate site emergency arrangements.
- Collaborate with Safety, Environment, and Construction Teams to integrate emergency preparedness functions.
- Represent the Emergency Preparedness Team at meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure assurance of related Site Licence Conditions, such as Emergency Signage (LC8).
To be successful in this role, we're looking for you to bring a strong foundation in audit-related training and qualifications, complemented by extensive experience in managing, planning, and completing complex assurance and audit activities. Your background includes working in construction environments, navigating multiple interfaces and stakeholders, and successfully developing, authoring, and implementing plans, policies, and procedures. - Strong negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to foster constructive relationships across professional and managerial disciplines.
- Skilled at analysing complex data and problems, identifying necessary actions, making clear recommendations, and ensuring successful implementation.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing personal workload and priorities to achieve team goals and targets effectively.
- Excellent organisational abilities, with a practical and methodical approach to project planning and managing multiple concurrent activities.
- Adept at influencing and providing constructive challenge in a way that gains acceptance from others.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A dynamic and proactive team player who is flexible yet capable of working independently across diverse issues to ensure compliance.
