Full Job Description

The Emergency Planning Resilience and Response (EPRR) Team at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) is advertising for an EPRR Officer, permanent role. We are a friendly and motivated team, passionate about the field of EPRR and committed to providing quality advice and guidance. We are looking for someone with similar attitudes, who can work both independently as well as part of a team, to join us and help develop UHL further. The post holder work will be central to supporting the Trust in achieving and maintaining compliance against the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and any associated EPRR guidance, including NHS England's Core Standards for EPRR. As the EPRR Officer, they will support the Trust by reviewing and updating existing plans, strengthening the roll-out of EPRR training and exercising programmes. This role does not have any on-call responsibilities; however, the post holder may be required to get involved in the response to any potential incidents or emergencies. The post holder will need to maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internal andexternal to the organisation and understand that they may work with time-sensitive and sensitive information, so a level of professionalism is expected at all times. The post holder will work with minimal supervision and be expected to work flexibly as part of the EPRR team., Key job responsibilities are to support the implementation of an effective emergency planning work programme for University Hospitals of Leicester. This will be achieved specifically through the review, development and roll-out of a variety of plans, training packages and exercises. This will include:

  • Supporting the EPRR team in the development and maintenance of plans (including business continuity plans);
  • Supporting the EPRR team in the continuous development and improvement of and delivery of training and exercise packages;
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to internal colleagues as well as working with external partners in preparing for, responding to and in the recovery efforts from a variety of emergencies or incidents;
  • Supporting the EPRR Team in coordinating communications from external partners, commissioners and regulators to relevant parts of the Trust.
