Full Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and experienced manager to join the NHS South East Regional EPRR Team. As an Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Senior Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective EPRR function supporting managers and staff across the geography to develop and maintain a good level or emergency preparedness. The post holder will work to deliver an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well co-ordinated EPRR function capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

This is an exciting and varied role suiting an individual who is looking for new challenges within their career., Work to ensure effective arrangements are in place to deliver appropriate care to patients affected by an emergency or incident. To ensure that the NHS is to be able to plan for and respond to a wide range of incidents and emergencies which could affect health or patient care.

The post holder will deputise for the Head of EPRR where necessary and ensure that the regional EPRR team is ready to support the Region at all times.

Develop and deliver appropriate systems and processes to enable the implementation of the regional EPRR strategy across the geography. Work with ICBs to develop their planning, resilience and preparedness to ensure that the NHS can respond effectively to incidents and events. Work to identify key risks and issues and ensure that appropriate mitigating actions are taken to deliver an effective response. Support the delivery of the annual NHS EPRR assurance process regionally, in partnership with ICBs.

Must be a subject matter experience across a number of key areas relating to EPRR, the Civil Contingencies Act and the Health and Social Care Act with evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development. Additionally must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current EPRR policy at the national, regional and system level.

Support the delivery of a resilient and high quality on-call system including rota management, training and exercising.
