Full Job Description
As Employability Coach, you'll sit at the heart of Generation UK&I, and will play an integral role in delivering high-quality mentorship and coaching. You will work closely with Generation graduates and lead on employability skills building and job-seeking support. You will support graduates as they apply and interview for roles in their new career field and into employment. You will lead group coaching and 121 sessions on CV and cover letter writing, interview skills, networking, and staying motivated whilst job-seeking. You'll work closely with Generation mentors who support learners on their boot-camps. You will also work closely with the regional partnerships teams to prepare graduates for job opportunities., Employability Support
- Deliver employability sessions based on graduate needs, including CV workshops and interview skills
- Facilitate and conduct mock interviews for graduates, providing specific and constructive feedback
- Provide individual interview preparation and motivational support for graduates applying for specific roles
- Provide targeted feedback on CVs, Cover Letters, Personal statements
- Prepare students to attend employer events, e.g. best practices on networking with employers and making a good first impression
- Ensure graduates are engaging with post-programme curricula
- Help graduates settle into their new careers, providing targeted support and wellbeing check-ins during the first months of employment Team
- Work with Generation on-programme mentors to ensure continuity of pastoral support after graduation
- Work with regional partnerships teams to prepare graduates for specific roles
- Work with the Head of Employability and Mentorship to improve the employability curriculum Safeguarding
- Respond to all safeguarding concerns as per the Safeguarding policy, involving other professionals as necessary
- Record all concerns in the Safeguarding log as per the Safeguarding policy Data and reporting:
- Track post-programme engagement using tools such as Salesforce and Power BI
- Develop reporting tools to enhance visible across graduated cohorts
- Review graduate and employer feedback, use this feedback to design activities and support intervention
You are an experienced mentor and/or career coach, driven to provide the best support possible to young people. You are passionate about supporting young adults to reach their full potential and are energized by the thought of supporting a cohort into employment. Your background in mentoring, education or social work means that you know where to turn for specialist support, and how to identify when it is needed. Specific requirements include, but are not limited to: - Integrity, positive attitude, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for Generation's mission
- Experience supporting young people and unemployed adults
- Knowledgeable of safeguarding principles and practices
- Experience working across teams and projects
