Full Job Description

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and work in an employability support environment, combining a mix of both administrative and marketing duties, organising, supporting and delivering employability events, and helping students and graduates via information and advice appointments.
In the first instance you will be based in the Faculty of Social Sciences, reporting to the Faculty Employability and Placements Manager. Over the course of your role this may change according to business and personal development needs and you may be asked to support the wider Student Careers Service as required.
You will provide students with initial information, advice, and practical support to help them navigate and compete in the graduate labour market. This includes offering one-on-one advice both in person and online. You will support the design and delivery of employability workshops which are suitable for the career needs of students from within the Faculty's 4 Schools. You will also support a Faculty programme of events, including at times, input from alumni and employers. Additionally, you'll stay up to date with trends in graduate recruitment and relevant occupational knowledge to ensure the highest level of expertise relevant to the Faculty of Social Sciences
You will work flexibly across various tasks, managing your own workload and prioritising effectively to support the full range of employability support services. As the first point of contact for stakeholders, including academics, students, and employers, you will provide timely information and advice, manage student communications such as newsletters and social media.

Strong communication, professionalism and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Ideally, you will have experience in providing client-focused information and advice. You should have the resilience to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced educational environment, and confidence in using and managing digital resources including social media.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas
What we offer in return:

o Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
o Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.
