Full Job Description

It is the responsibility of the Finance Division to manage the financial resources of the University. The Division is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the accounting records, establishing best practices and for producing both the statutory accounts and management information to assist in decision making at all levels of the institution., Reporting to the Head of Employment Tax, the role will be responsible for increasing employment and expatriate tax knowledge, understanding and compliance across the University and related areas. Working with multiple stakeholders, you will provide practical and technical advice to ensure best practice is adopted. The postholder will:

  • Create and monitor policies and processes relating to employment and expatriate taxes
  • Provide technical guidance, to the University, on specific employment tax and expatriate tax issues
  • Highlight areas for continuous improvement
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the University's employment status for tax process
  • Advise on the set-up of and compliance relating to globally mobile employees
  • Assist in projects across the University

  • Strong UK employment tax and expatriate tax expertise
  • Experience of working in an in-house tax team for a large multinational or advising such businesses in a professional services organisation, with experience of providing practical advice to business and non-tax professionals
  • CTA or ACA qualified (or similar by experience)
