Full Job Description

This role will support residents with disabilities and EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) to transition into paid employment, with a package of support utilising Access to Work, if required. As Employment Officer you will be part of a team making a real difference to people's lives. We are looking for passionate, and committed individuals who are able to engage with residents in addition to working in partnership with the wider organisations that provide support such as healthcare partners, social workers and families/households.

  • Understanding of mental illness and the barriers faced by people with mental health problems who wish to access/retain employment opportunities
  • Commitment to and understanding of social inclusion, anti discriminatory practice, and equal opportunities.
  • Ability to use assessment tools and formulate action plans
  • Ability to communicate and network with a range of people, including clients, mental health professionals and employers
  • Ability to devise and deliver training material/presentations to employers, related professionals and other organisations.
