Full Job Description

Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Across the UK & Ireland the RNLI is recognised for our lifesaving work from rescue and supervision to education and prevention. An essential part of making this happen is ensuring our IT equipment and systems support all of our activities, and that the RNLI End User Computing Services team is able to support all our users, volunteers and supporters. The team interacts with a wide range of stakeholders - including our volunteers - which means customer service skills, as well as technical competence, are key to ensuring we deliver effectively, and that is where you come in.

We need your strong technical expertise and best practice guidance, and crucially your initiative and ability to practice your skills to improve the support we give to our lifesaving services.

This role and the EUC function are responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing key services within our client estate. From operating system deployment, patch management and baseline security compliance monitoring, to mobile device management and software and hardware asset management to name a few. Project management skills are essential and you will hit the ground running by rolling out Windows 11 to our complete estate.

You'll act as an EUC subject matter expert and assist in the transition of new services into production, ensuring a smooth transition into the Service Desk function ready for support. Creating technical documentation and working procedures for others to follow will be a key part of the transition process.

As part of the wider EUC team you'll provide 3^rd line EUC technical support where needed and play an important role in identifying opportunities to reduce repeating incidents and upskill Service Desk staff to reduce technical escalation.

You'll be an effective communicator, who can deal with colleagues from all levels of the business and suppliers in a professional and confident manner. You'll be a good coach to other members of our team.

If you have a heart for our charitable cause, the drive to build a reliable and supportive client estate in which to improve our life saving services through technology, and appreciate working as part of an engaging team, you'll enjoy working here.
