An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the expansion of the Endoscopy service to become part of our administrative support team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
With a brand new Endoscopy Unit opening at our Friarage site and refurbishment taking place at our James Cook Site, now is an exciting time to become part of our growing Endoscopy Administration team supporting the growth and development of the service.
Based at James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough or Friarage Hospital, Northallerton you will play a pivotal role at the start of our patient's journey. Working closely with our Endoscopists and nursing staff to deliver an outstanding patient experience we are looking for people who have excellent inter-personal skills to help put our patients at the heart of our service.
You'll be meticulous and organised and able to manage your own workload. Communicating directly with patients to ensure that we are meeting their needs you'll be a role model for the Trust values of being Respectful, Supportive and Caring both to your patients and other colleagues.

Please be aware of this when submitting your application., The successful candidate will play an active role in supporting others to achieve the smooth day-today running of the busy Endoscopy Service within the South Tees NHS Foundation Trust.
The Endoscopy Booking Clerk will book patient referrals in accordance with the Trust's 'Patient Elective Care Access Policy' within the administrative and clerical function of the Endoscopy Service in relation to Endoscopy specific procedures and also general Gastroenterology Clinics. Ensuring all patients referred into the service are allocated to an appropriate operating list, that subsequent appointments and appropriate supporting functions (e.g. interpreters) are booked correctly and in accordance with the clinical triage criteria applied to each referral.
Helping to co-ordinate the urgent response to referrals into the service for suspected cancer patients. Rescheduling patients as necessary either due to changes in their clinical need or changing demands of the Endoscopy Service and escalating patient queries to clinical teams as required in order to provide suitable timely information to patients in relation to their scheduled procedures.
