Full Job Description
The Energy and Carbon Performance Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future by offering expert advice and guidance on reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions in university buildings. This position is vital for managing the university's utilities and energy usage, striving to lower costs, consumption, and environmental impact continuously.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the utilities budget and energy consumption, encompassing procurement, metering, bill validation, recharging, forecasting, and reporting. The manager will drive the design and implementation of the utility metering strategy, ensuring an accurate and up-to-date database for energy and carbon monitoring.
Additionally, the manager will conduct detailed analyses of energy consumption patterns to identify anomalies and provide transformative recommendations for efficiency improvements. They will perform building energy audits to unlock energy-saving opportunities and assist in preparing compelling business cases to secure financial investments for these essential initiatives.
Although this is a full time position we invite applications from individuals who are able to commit to a minimum of three days per week. Our schedule is flexible, allowing for arrangements that can accommodate various personal needs and commitments.
Hybrid working is available for this role with usually 2 days per week working from home and 3 days on Portsmouth campus.
