Full Job Description

We are looking for an energy consultant to join our industry leading and award winning Sustainability team, positioned across Expedition Engineering and Useful Projects. We have an expansive portfolio of projects in the UK and overseas with leading clients across the private and public sectors who share our values and purpose. We are seeking candidates with enthusiasm and drive to support us in our Trust mission 'to create a regenerative built and natural environment which meets the needs of all people and the planet.' Your role will be to help shape the energy transition for across existing estates, regeneration schemes and new developments. As well as providing the evidence base to support policy, estate strategies, and preplanning on major regeneration projects, you will also help develop delivery routes and funding models. Successful candidates will have relevant experience in Energy Consulting or Building Services, with an interest in site wide energy infrastructure and energy masterplanning, including low carbon heating, energy networks, and renewables. You will be responsible for:

  • + Supporting in the development of zero-carbon route maps, illustrating 'the art of the possible'. + Clear communication and delivery of high-quality technical advice, client reports, technical publications, presentations, and training materials + Undertaking feasibility studies, reviewing different options against whole life carbon and cost criteria. + Undertaking energy and carbon modelling for a range of development types. + Preparing Sustainability and Energy Statements for planning, with a focus on sustainable development and decarbonisation.

    + BEng/BSc in Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. + Working towards Chartership with relevant body. + Some post graduate experience in the design and delivery of MEP strategies across RIBA Stages. + Residential energy modelling, including SAP and PHPP. + Enhanced operational modelling using CIBSE TM54 and dynamic simulation (IES or similar).Interest in low carbon retrofit and energy audits for existing estates. + Proactive approach to sharing knowledge and nurturing the development of others. + Interest in broader aspects of sustainable developments
