Full Job Description

As our Energy Economist Director you will:

  • Develop and grow the regulatory reporting and energy market analysis team supporting clients in the UK energy sector.
  • Lead tender pitches to win commercially successful business
  • Deliver large scale contracts across a variety of different modes (gas, nuclear, sustainable fuels, etc.)
  • Be a subject matter expert in regulatory economics in energy, championing this both internally and externally, including attending events and speaking at conferences to maintain and strengthen the Jacobs brand for regulatory economic analysis in the energy sector

  • You will be working on some cutting edge projects, such as hydrogen transportation, boosting power to large scale data centres and working closely with the Department for Net Zero.

  • An experienced people leader who can drive vision and purpose.
  • Commercial and delivery experience in a management consultancy environment.
  • Relationship management and strategic influencing and engagement skills that cultivate trust with a focus on supporting clients through the energy transition.
  • Adept at engagement management, maintaining client relationships and keeping projects on track.
  • Adept at developing cross-disciplinary teams to collaborate to solve complex problems.

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Consultancy sales and project delivery experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK energy regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of markets and market strategies in energy.
  • Relevant academic qualifications and professional memberships
  • Direct experience of working with public and private sector clients.
  • You will have an excellent understanding of energy trends and markets across generation, transmission, distribution and consumption. This will include knowledge of investors, developers and operators across the energy sector.
