Full Job Description

  • Advising combined local authorities in Wales on the property aspects of a green hydrogen project comprising a facility for the production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen powered by a ground mounted solar farm located nearby.
  • Advising the developers of the 576 MW Awel Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm project on the lease agreements for the offshore project and easements and other property rights for the onshore cable route and grid infrastructure.
  • Advising the project promoter on all property aspects of a major carbon capture, utilisation and storage project in the UK.
  • Advising Tesco Stores Limited on the lease arrangements with various suppliers for the roll out of roof top solar on Tesco's portfolio of stores in the UK as part of Tesco's pathway to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2035.
  • Advising the landowner on the Option Agreement for Scout Moor Extension onshore windfarm in Lancashire.
  • Advising Transport for London on all property aspects of the £1bn Silvertown Tunnel project in east London.
  • Advising the Environment Agency on all property issues related to its £500m River Thames Flood Defence Scheme.
  • The Candidate Required The successful candidate will be England & Wales qualified and will have relevant experience of energy and/or major infrastructure property work within a large regional or national practice. The role of a Legal Director will signify to clients, the market and to your internal colleagues within Pinsent Masons that you are a highly experienced lawyer capable of advising on complex transactions, managing and developing existing client relationships, leading teams, building networks with other teams across all of our locations to win work from the internal and external market and taking on a wide range of responsibilities. As a Legal Director you will also be participating in many of the activities undertaken by senior leaders in the firm, such as leading client review meetings, developing ideas for new products and services, participating in the promotion process and interviewing new team members., The lawyer joining this friendly and dynamic UK-wide team will encounter a broad range of energy and infrastructure property work, acting for a wide range of high-profile clients on large and nationally significant transactions. In particular, in relation to energy projects, the successful candidate will work on wind (on and offshore), solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage and nuclear transactions for public authorities, developers, investors, funders and utility companies.

    The candidate will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. They must also be technically excellent but equally important they should be commercially aware and enthusiastic and demonstrate a track record of business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach.

    We are currently looking for a Senior Property Lawyer to join our market leading Energy & Infrastructure Property team in a leadership role as part of our expanding global Property Group. The candidate can be based at any of our Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester offices. The Legal Director role is a meaningful senior fee earner role for a candidate with over 10 years PQE who is admitted and qualified in England & Wales and has relevant experience of the property aspects of energy and/or major infrastructure projects.
