Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Energy Modelling Lead to help the team develop a more advanced modelling approach to assess how costs and risks might evolve in future years and how these changes will impact different market segments., As the Energy Modelling Lead, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the modelling approach, delivering commercial insights to drive sales strategy and improve pricing and valuations.

You will provide day to day leadership of energy cost modelling activities within the team whilst taking ownership of the energy system modelling solution used for pricing energy shaping and balancing costs and risks across all EDF market segments.

You'll be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and refining a complex model and process to effectively simulate key variables impacting the GB energy system. Additionally, you will take ownership of existing risk modelling tools and enhance the team's understanding of them.

Working collaboratively with other teams across WMS, you'll ensure consistency across assumptions and methodologies, identifying required modelling outcomes, and delivering the successful solutions for these.

We are looking for somebody with prior energy cost modelling experience and an excellent understanding of the GB energy markets and commercial structures.

You will be familiar with different statistical and data science techniques and have experience with cloud architectures, such as AWS & Snowflake. Expertise in at least one server-side language such as Python is essential to be successful in this role.
