Full Job Description

The Reporting Analyst will report to the Reporting Team Leader and be responsible for running reports and managing delivery of reports and analytics to clients and internal stakeholders. The Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for managing the on-line reporting system which will include set-up, delivery and management of reporting. Key responsibilities will be to ensure reports are accurate and generated on time for issue. Analysis and commentary will be required based upon the reports, along with key data observations. Main Duties

  • Run energy consumption, cost, financial and accrual reports
  • Produce reports and dashboards to meet audience criteria
  • To set, update and monitor system alarms
  • To set budgets/ baselines for monitoring against actual consumption
  • Create any degree-day and any meter ready reporting that is required
  • Create and bespoke reports as required in liaison with the technical team
  • Provide support with energy reporting compliance activities
  • Managing the client portfolio
  • Provide fast response to customer needs and query resolution
  • Run invoice authorisation validation reports and highlight potential discrepancies where required
  • Create and maintain all Excel based reporting templates
  • Identify areas for further development and recommend new processes to the team
  • Find solutions to improve processes and challenge current ways of working
  • Liaise with other departments including Technical, Procurement, Bureau and Data Management Team as well as the wider Analytics team where applicable
  • Write reports
  • To be able to interpret data clearly and concisely to others
  • To manage own customer reporting and to be able to support customer requirements with the support of the Head
  • Client liaison and attendance of some client meetings where required


  • Organised and Accurate
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and Access (VBA & macros) plus knowledge of current databases in order to provide day to day customer support
  • Experience of dealing with customers & suppliers
  • Strong analytical and statistical probing skills & multi linear regression
  • Strong understanding of Utilities and Energy Reporting
  • To have good experience in utilities or energy, plus awareness of current legislation and implications
  • Able to demonstrate self-reliance and ability to manage own time and priorities
  • Ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple language
