Durham County Council has an In-House Enforcement Agent Service and are seeking to recruit a certificated Enforcement Agent. This is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to the development of the team. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The service is responsible for the collection and enforcement of Council Tax, Business Rates, parking fines & fixed penalty notices, commercial rents, sundry debt and Housing Benefit Overpayments. You will join Transactional & Customer Services as part of the Payments, Income & Support Team. You will be required to demonstrate experience of working in debt recovery and dealing with customers in challenging situations. You must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to deliver a customer focused service that is subject to frequent change. Travel is an essential requirement of the post and you will be required to work flexibly, including some work outside of standard working hours plus some Saturday working. If you are enthusiastic and have the necessary skills and experience to join the team, we would like to hear from you., A current Enforcement Agent certificate is essential.
