Annual retainer £500 plus £350 per meeting (includes preparation and follow up)

CILEx Regulation regulates Chartered Legal Executives, other CILEx members, practitioners and entities. We oversee the education, qualification and continuing competence of those we regulate. Our regulatory framework is outcomes-focused with an emphasis on protecting and promoting the interests of the public and consumer.

We are currently recruiting five individuals to join our list of lay members to act as panellists on the Disciplinary Tribunal and Appeals Panel.

We are looking for candidates that have an interest in professional regulation. You will be involved in deciding on cases involving professional misconduct and concerns relating to character and suitability. You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work with diverse teams to work through complex information to reach evidenced based conclusions. You should have a genuine interest in upholding high standards and willingness or an interest protecting the rights of consumers.

The majority of our hearings are held remotely and, determined on the documents. You may also be required to attend in person hearings, periodic meetings, briefing sessions and training events, which will be primarily held online but on occasion also in person.
