Full Job Description

We are looking for a confident communicator with a can-do attitude to play a pivotal role in our mission to help people live healthier lives. As an Engagement Coordinator, you will build relationships with key stakeholder groups to support and facilitate health and wellbeing initiatives within local communities. You will identify and attend appropriate events, representing the service in a professional and confident manner, aiming to enhance service usage by target groups and underrepresented populations. This is a hugely important role, raising awareness of and access to health resources and helping people take their first step towards a happier, healthier lifestyle.

Day-to-Day Duties:
Work as a member of a multi-professional team to promote and support health and wellbeing initiatives.
Operate with a good degree of autonomy, working in community settings to raise awareness of health resources. This includes running promotional stands at events, speaking to the public, and supporting individuals in improving their lifestyle.
Undertake promotional activities in virtual settings, engaging with community groups, charities, and underrepresented groups through online presentations and information sharing.
Generate your own opportunities to promote services by building a network of contacts across the county and receive engagement assignments from team members to contribute to the strategic vision.

Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement or equivalent.
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
GCSE Standard or equivalent with A-C grades in English and Maths.
Experience in health promotion initiatives and one-to-one support.
Experience with community organisations, influencing change.
Proficient in IT, including Word, Excel, email, and databases.
Strong written, verbal, non-verbal, and listening communication skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong administration, planning, and prioritisation skills.

Please note: Hours are between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexible working may include evenings and weekends. Travel across Dorset is required, and applicants must have a UK driving license and access to a car for work.
