Full Job Description

Public Realm are seeking an adaptable and self-motivated individual to join our Parks and Open Spaces team within Environment and Place. The successful candidate will provide support for the team, specifically working alongside the Engagement and Developer Officer.

The successful candidate will assist with managing Friends of Groups, applying for funding, consultations and delivering projects across the district.

The role involves attending Friends meetings, assisting with workdays (for example tree planting, weeding and litter picking). As well as helping to oversee developments in line with Council procedures for tenders, procurement, and project management., This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working Monday to Friday, however you may be required to work evenings, weekends or Bank Holidays for meetings, workdays and events, to suit the needs of our stakeholders., At Lancaster City Council we aim to have a diverse workforce that is representative of the district that we serve, and provide a working environment where each employee feels able to bring their whole self to work. You should have experience of working in an office environment and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have proven Microsoft Office skills and the ability to manage a busy workload, working under pressure to ensure tight deadlines are met. You must be able to work effectively as part of a close team and cope well within a frequently changing environment.

A full current UK driving licence is essential. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data., You will identify with our organisational values of Pride, Ownership, Working Together and Ambition., Disability Confident
