Full Job Description

1. Provide outstanding support to enable pupils with additional needs including those with SEN to play a full and active part in the life of the school and to make outstanding progress in their learning. 2. Support pupils in their educational and social development. 3. Motivate and encourage pupils.

  • Child Support: Working on a one-to-one or small group basis with children to provide personalised mentoring and academic support, promoting positive attitudes toward learning.
  • Pastoral Care: Providing emotional and behavioural support to children, identifying any social or emotional challenges and helping children develop coping strategies.
  • Behaviour Management: Assisting with behaviour improvement plans, working to reduce incidents of poor behaviour and supporting positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitoring Progress: Tracking the progress of children, regularly reporting to the SENCO, class teachers, and the senior leadership team.
  • Targeted Intervention: Identifying children in need of additional support and implement intervention programs to help them engage fully in school life.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to children and contributing to individualised support and pastoral plans where necessary.
  • Attendance and Engagement: Assisting with strategies to improve children's attendance and engagement, working with attendance officers and school leadership to encourage regular attendance and positive attitudes toward school.
